London Olympics: USA gymnast’s Parents Aly Raisman’s reactions during competition. NBC has decided to now give the viewer a personal perspective. I thought it was fantastic.
Aly Raisman received one of the only two all around competition spots during the qualifying events Sunday. That means this US gymnast score will be able to compete in all four events for a medal contention.
Only two competitors from any one nation can compete in an event final, and Raisman finished 0.025 points higher than her other teammates.
Needham gymnast Aly Raisman moves closer to Olympic glory
All eyes in Needham are on humble hometown heroine Aly Raisman as the gymnast bounds to new heights, qualifying yesterday to compete for Olympic gold in the all-around gymnastics final in London.
“Everyone’s really excited that she’s representing our small town,” said Maddie McGill, a Needham resident and friend of the Olympian. “There are signs everywhere saying, ‘Go Aly Good Luck USA Team in London.’ ”
And Raisman, 18, is doing Needham proud. She didn’t just qualify yesterday, she actually earned the top score by an American with an overall 60.391.

We are very proud of you Aly!!!! Keep it up until you see gold.
I am behind all these athletes no matter what country. I just can imagine how proud their parents and countries are of all of them. Of course, I do pray that the Americans come out ahead!
