Michael Phelps, Olympic gold medalist, vacations in the Maldives Islands after London 2012. Do you think the most decorated Olympic athlete, fish out of water would attend the closing ceremonies? Nah, he headed for a non chlorinated, sea water setting.

The Republic of Maldives, or simply the Maldives, is an island nation in the Indian Ocean. It consists of approximately 1,190 coral islands grouped in a double chain of 26 atolls, along the north-south direction, spread over roughly 90,000 square kilometers, making this one of the most disparate countries in the world.

London 2012 Olympics closing ceremony, final medal standings.

I pose the question, Is the British national anthem “God Save the Queen” the same song as the American “Let Freedom Ring?”

Answer, Yes, Americans took the melody and changed the words. Wow! slap in their face. You know what country we broke away from bloody England.

Closing ceremony looks like one huge music video in a circular fashion.

Team USA wins men’s Basketball Gold 107-100 against Spain, London, 2012 Olympics. It wasn’t Dream Team in 1992 summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain but they are the best in the world’s stage 2012. 14th Gold Medal in US history.

They are playing Born in the USA in the background.  I guess Bruce Springsteen gave them the rights.

It was schedule live on NBC @ 9am. I turned it on, Meet the Press was airing. I went to the Internet to view.  It then started @ 10am. Meet the Press were sneaky in the programing, got an early time slot with the Paul Ryan debate conversation. All regular shows have been preempted due to final day of Olympic coverage.

The world is getting better and better in men’s basketball. I still say the Dream Team 1992 will not have turned the ball over to anyone. They are still the best!

Wrestling Gold, Track World Record for U.S. London 2012. Jordan Burroughs of the United States won the gold in men’s 74-kg freestyle wrestling and the United States women’s 4x100m relay team won the gold medal and set a world record with a time of 40.82 seconds. at the Olympic Stadium
