Cole Hamels 28, Philadelphia’s new $144 million dollar man. Cole has decided his families future and signed a new 6 year $144 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. It now has stopped him into perusing the free agent market as the LA Dodgers were eying the prey with money that is flowing in their organization. It’s the largest contract signed by a Philadelphia athlete and second-highest for a pitcher behind the $161 million deal the New York Yankees gave CC Sabathia in December 2008. He will be hanging around with Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee for a few more years. Not bad company to have as your coworkers. There is Carlos Ruiz as your attentive catcher. ( My personal favorite Phillie)
Cole Hamels was the MVP of the Philadelphia Phillies World Series team member in 2008 and voted a three time All Star.
Being a former professional athletes wife, I believe it came down to Mrs. Hamels decision. Since she is the veteran pitcher’s wife. No one ever writes or cites that angle. Everyone thinks it is all about the money. It is about the family. You do not think he talked about this life changing decision with his better half? The Hamels family also has many charities and various foundations that they are involved within the area.
This Phillie’s fan is elated over the news. As I drove this morning and tuned into a local sports radio station, WIP the news broke. Then, I proceeded to my athletic yoga class at 9:30am at Future Fitness in Cherry Hill, NJ. I was hyped and excited today and Lucy my diva instructor (and she is the bomb) was surprised and commented. Love the heated room and the 9:30 crowd is a blast as we sweat profusely and breath heavily all in the name of personal fitness.
Cole was born December 12, 1983.
Let us look at the many faces of Cole Hamels. A fashion model, a MLB professional pitcher, a daddy and a husband. I love the daddy picture.
Congratulations Cole Hamels and family.
Cole is the face of the franchise. Happy, happy, joy joy, and yes, I understand this is alot of cash to be handing one person but Pro Sports is a huge generator of income to many people in the community, concession, tickets, apparel, plus we are the best Fans in Pro Sports!
Philadelphia treats their athletes very well, in turn they do so much for the community.
Phillies won last night in the 9th. Today, they are wining 5-1 in a business person special.

All is well in my part of the world today.
I would tease you about your team, but I don’t know who they play. I hope that he does the Phillies right and wins a few games for them! 😉

7 Ways Cole Hamels’ Huge Extension Shakes Up the 2012 MLB Trade Deadline
Wednesday morning, Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Cole Hamels became a very rich man. In fact, his future children and grandchildren became very rich as well.
Hamels agreed to a six-year, $144 million contract extension that keeps him in Philly for most of the rest of the decade. A vesting option was included for the 2019 season as well.
Now armed with the second-richest contract for a pitcher in MLB history behind only CC Sabathia, Hamels’ decision to stay right where he is drastically alters the landscape in the trade market.
Teams who had been busily preparing to make offers to Philly for the 28-year-old southpaw must now switch gears and go in an entirely different direction.
So, just what does Hamels’ contract extension mean for the rest of the players available on the trade market?
Let’s take a look.

Who and where do they play next?
The season doesn’t end until late Sept, They are in last place but won 7 of 10 last games played, We had lots of injuries.
He was from our Farm system, if he would have went, they would have lost the season ticket holders.
Great day for Phillie Fans.
He was worth every penny, this has shaken up the MLB pay scale for sure,
We already have two other starting pitchers making over $20 million per year.
The team now is now over the luxury tax, they have to pay b/c of roster.
Well, I do hope your team does well.
This is compared to signing Peyton Manning in the NFL.
Peyton Manning is a fantastic player. He can throw one mean football. Some years you win and some years you don’t. Go Dallas1 🙂 lol
