A lot is being said in the media about Mitt Romney not being “likable” or that he doesn’t “relate well” to people. Frankly, we struggled to understand why. So after much research, we have come up with a Top Ten List to explain this “unlikablility.”
Top Ten Reasons To Dislike Mitt Romney:
1. Drop-dead, collar-ad handsome with gracious, statesmanlike aura. Looks like every central casting’s #1 choice for Commander-in-Chief.
2. Been married to ONE woman his entire life, and has been faithful to her, including through her bouts with breast cancer and MS.
3. No scandals or skeletons in his closet. (How boring is that?)
4. Can’t speak in a fake, southern, “black preacher voice” when necessary.
5. Highly intelligent. Graduated cum laude from both Harvard Law School and
Harvard Business School…and by the way, his academic records are NOT sealed.6. Doesn’t smoke or drink alcohol, and has never done drugs, not even in the counter-culture age when he went to college. Too square for today’s America?
7. Represents an America of “yesterday”, where people believed in God, went to Church, didn’t screw around, worked hard, and became a SUCCESS!
8. Has a family of five great sons….and none of them have police records or are in drug rehab. But of course, they were raised by a stay-at-home mom, and that “choice” deserves America’s scorn.
9. Oh yes…..he’s a MORMON. We need to be very afraid of that very strange religion that teaches its members to be clean-living, patriotic, fiscally conservative, charitable, self-reliant, and honest.
10. And one more point…..pundits say because of his wealth, he can’t relate to ordinary Americans. I guess that’s because he made that money.
HIMSELF…..as opposed to marrying it or inheriting it from Dad. Apparently, he didn’t understand that actually working at a job and earning your own money made you unrelatable to Americans. Oh and by the way HE GAVE HIS ENTIRE INHERITANCE TO CHARITY.

Obama Tells Tall Tales About The Bush Years
A key attack line in President Obama’s campaign stump speech these days is to claim that the country has tried Mitt Romney’s economic policies already, and they were a dismal failure.
Romney, he says, wants to do two things: Cut taxes for the rich and massively deregulate the economy.
“The truth is,” Obama says, “we tried (that) for almost a decade, and it didn’t work.”
Bush-era tax cuts and deregulation, he argues “resulted in the most sluggish job growth in decades” along with “rising inequality, surpluses turned into deficits, culminating in the worst economic crisis in our lifetimes.”
There’s just one problem. Obama’s got his history wrong.
First, Bush was no big deregulator.

Foreign leaders see ‘America in decline,’ Australian foreign minister tells Romney
Australia’s foreign minister privately warned Sunday that foreign leaders see “America in decline,” Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said.
Romney said he met with Foreign Minister Bob Carr in a San Francisco hotel Sunday night shortly before a Republican fundraiser.
He said Carr suggested that America could improve that international perception “with one budget deal” that helps balance the budget.
“And this idea of America in decline, it was interesting [Carr] said that; he led the talk of American being in decline,” Romney said at the fundraiser, according to The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper. “And if they’re thinking about investing in America, entrepreneurs putting their future in America — if they think America’s in decline they’re not gonna do it.”

So it is hard to say this was given without expectation of profitable returns. That said, the Mormon faith is charitable. I understand and acknowledge any member of a religious group who tithes to their church. Does tithing to your church help anyone outside your church, who lives and struggles in the broader community? That may be another issue, varying with each church (most do try to help the less fortunate).
What was the percentage that the Obama’s gave to their church? Christians are expected to give 10% to the church. The Christian churches that I know give out free food, clothing and help with housing and utilities. So yes giving to a church does help the community in a broad sense.

jan579 – good question about the tithing. It’s one I can answer, since I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the “Mormon” church). Tithing is a commandment in the church, much like keeping the Sabbath holy and praying to God. It’s a sacrifice of temporal things which serves many purposes. It helps the Church in the construction and maintenance of buildings, etc. and also helps in its humanitarian efforts across the world. Hurricane Katrina, refugees, sick people in Africa, you name it. There is also another kind of donation called a fast offering, which is primarily dedicated to helping the poor and needy of the Church in one’s own area. I will offer you a better explanation of why tithing is so much a part of being a Mormon. Tithing is a commandment. Keeping the commandments is something that a person striving to be like Christ just does, because it’s who he/she is and wants to be. Ideally, it’s done out of love for God and fellow man, although it’s harder for some people than for others. But the blessings of faithfulness have always been the same – you don’t have to wait for heaven, because you become the kind of person who can live with God. That’s my two cents, and I hope it’s helpful.
He also gave away his inheritance that his father left him. Also as Gov. of MA he did so without pay. He also didn’t get paid when he was head of the Utah Olympics plus he donated a million to them. Does Obama really want to go down the road of who gave more to charity? I think not.
