Fear and Love With The Lord: 2 Timothy 1:7

As I am finding fear a difficult place in my life, I breath through prayer.

2 Timothy 1:7

for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.

A Return to Love

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. Unshakeable Peace Serenity: Philippians 4:6-7.

Philippians 4:6-7

do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Serenity can’t be manufactured—it’s a gift from our heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit produces a sense of calm in believers who seek the Lord’s protection against anxiety. The Greek word translated as guard in today’s passage literally means “to garrison about.” God wraps hearts and minds in peace, effectively safeguarding both against all-consuming worry or fear. Notice that He doesn’t make problems go away—we may still be under pressure or prone to weep, but we’re cushioned against anxiety and surrounded by peace instead.

Heal me with your love. I bring to you, dearest Lord, my life and it is, my hopes and dreams, my struggles and pains, my fears, anxieties my hurts, my talents, my achievements, my disappointments and my sickness. I bring to you all whom I love. I entrust all to you and with confident faith I take heart; for you make all things new. Renew me, and heal me with your everlasting love.
In this I pray, Amen
