The Assumption of the Virgin Mary, August 15. Assumption Day commemorates the belief that when Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, died, her body was not subjected to the usual process of physical decay but was “assumed” into heaven and reunited there with her soul. This holiday, which has been celebrated since the fourth century CE, is a Christianization of an earlier harvest festival and, in many parts of Europe, is known as the Feast of Our Lady of the Harvest.
The Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a Holy Day of Obligation in the Catholic Church.

I know to many other Christians I must seem different to pray to Blessed Mother,
But we honor her b/c she is the Mother Of Jesus.
Like we honor all Mothers every year, there are special days we honor the Blessed Mother.( even though it isn’t in the Bible she assended into heaven we believe Jesus came down and took her to heaven when she died with him.
Do you think Jesus would leave his Mom behind and not escort her into heaven when she died?
She is Jesus’s Mom!
Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Blessed Virgin Mary,
who can worthily repay you with praise
and thanks for having rescued a fallen world
by your generous consent!
Receive my gratitude,
Take my prayers into the sanctuary of heaven
and enable them to make our peace with God.
Holy Mary, help the miserable,
strengthen the discouraged,
comfort the sorrowful,
pray for your people,
intercede for all women consecrated to God.
May all who venerate you
feel now your help and protection.
Be ready to help me when I pray,
and bring back to me the answers to my prayers.

Make it your continual concern
