ESPN strikes deal for College Football Playoff. The four-team playoff and the broadcast deal will begin after 2014 until January 2026, the network said in a statement.

ESPN President John Skipper said,

Because of college football’s widespread popularity and the incredible passion of its fans, few events are more meaningful than these games.  We are ecstatic at the opportunity to continue to crown a college football champion on ESPN’s outlets for years to come, the perfect finale to our year-round commitment to the sport.”

Wrestling Gold, Track World Record for U.S. London 2012. Jordan Burroughs of the United States won the gold in men’s 74-kg freestyle wrestling and the United States women’s 4x100m relay team won the gold medal and set a world record with a time of 40.82 seconds. at the Olympic Stadium

Did NBC air racist monkey commercial after Gabby Douglas Olympics Gold Medal?

Bob Costas commented Gabby Douglas’s All-Rround Olympics Gold medal broke the stereotype, NBC followed it up immediately with this commercial featuring a monkey doing gymnastics.

US Soccer star Abby Wambach gets sucker punched in the eye by Colombian opponent. Despite her black eye, the 32-year-old striker went on in the second half to score a goal and break the U.S. women’s soccer record for goals at the Olympics with a tally of six

The US won 3-0 over Colombia.

London Olympics: July 30. It’s an exciting day as swimming qualifying heats, men’s cycling, beach volleyball, with some high-profile team sports continuing their preliminary rounds and some big events heading for the medal stand, such as men’s team gymnastics.
