New York City Walk to fight kidney disease October 14,2012. The Kidney Walk is a community fundraiser that calls attention to the prevention of kidney disease and the need for organ donation. The Walk is a non-competitive 5K (3.1 miles).

It’s an opportunity for patients, transplant recipients, organ donors, family, friends, groups and businesses to come together to support the millions of people with chronic kidney disease and to spread awareness for those at risk.

New York City high schools to offer “morning after” pills in a pilot program called CATCH, (Connecting Adolescents To Comprehensive Health). In 13 of New York City’s high schools, the Department of Education has authorized distribution of the controversial Plan B hormonal birth control in nurses offices without parental consent. Only 1-2% of parents selected to opt out of the program by form.

New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn stated,

High school students are very sexually active and getting pregnant, so we don’t have that luxury to think that they are too young to be engaged in conversations about contraception and sexual education.”

Barack and Michelle Obama will appear on “The View” in New York City on the shows “Red, White & View” series which is to tape Monday and air Tuesday September 25, 2012.

Obama isn’t meeting with other world leaders at the United Nations General Assembly, but is finding time to appear on the “View.”

Barbara Walters co- host of “The View” said in a statement,

We are honored to host President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama. Although each of them has appeared several times on the program, this first joint appearance marks a significant milestone.”

Obama’s fundraiser by Jay-Z and Beyonce in NYC is tonight at the rappers 40/40 Club It boasts a catwalk, five V.I.P. lounges, and an 18-foot-tall illuminated champagne tower among its amenities.. At $40,000 per head of 100 people Obama should raise over $4 million. Also, Obama is  to tape a show, Late Show with David Letterman. Remember, Obama tweeted about the event when American Embassy’s were under attack this past week.

Obama has his priorities in order.

But, you will not see any videos or audio of the fundraiser. Also expect gridlock on the Manhattan streets as Obama’s motorcade is excepted at 3pm.
