Wednesday marks Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day and Christians across the country plan to express solidarity with the restaurant following the fallout over gay marriage.
According to the Support Chick-fil-A Facebook page, more than 550,000 people have committed to visit the fast-food restaurant.

Chick-Fil-A Supporters To Turn Out For ‘Appreciation Day’
The culture clash over Chick-Fil-A could come to a head on Wednesday, with supporters in Chicago and around the country turning out for an “appreciation day” first proposed by former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee.
And Republicans in Chicago say they will also file a formal complaint at City Hall against Ald. Proco “Joe” Moreno (1st), who wants to block the restaurant from moving into his ward because of the company’s position on gay marriage and gay rights.

PICKET: Chicago GOP to file complaint against Rahm Emanuel over Chick fil A flap
The Chicago Republican Party announced last week it would file a complaint with the Illinois Department of Human Rights and Attorney General Lisa Madigan over the discriminatory action by Alderman Proco (Joe) Moreno against the food chain Chick-fil-A.
The party is now expanding their complaint to cover Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel as well. According to a press release, the Chicago Republican Party says that “the complaint states that the Alderman and the Mayor have broken civil rights laws pertaining to religious freedom and the First Amendment in denying Chick fil A a permit to operate its business in the City of Chicago.”

Today is National Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, but judging from the nationwide social media reports last week, customers didn’t wait for the official day to start showing their support. The fast-food chicken restaurant has seen standing-room-only dining areas and clogged drive-through lines all week since the mayors of Boston and Chicago openly declared their desire to shut the company’s franchises down through discriminatory permitting practices.
It’s extremely encouraging to see this massive push back and support from prominent political figures. But before and after today, many small businesses and lesser-known companies will be battling government officials and progressive shakedown artists because of their religious beliefs and principles. They deserve your support and attention, too.
