Chase Utley Hits Two Long Balls But Get Drilled In The Back By 95 MPH Pitch.
Retaliation by Matt Harvey, starting pitcher for the Mets to make up for Phillies pitcher David Buchanan in the 2nd inning nailing two Mets. ( I believe it was by accident) Wilmer Flores and Cuddyer was hit on the left hand. Cuddyer left the game but the X- rays were negative. Plate umpire Alfonso Marquez warned both benches.
Chase replied after the game,
I guess you’re going to have to ask him that question.” Harvey said the pitch got away. “That sounds about right. It kind of grazed me somewhere in my back. Getting hit by a pitch is part of the game. It’s not the first time I’ve been hit by a pitch and it won’t be the last.”
Chase came out of his slump with 2 HRS and an RBI single but the Phillies lost the game 6-5.
Papelbon wasn’t available to close since he pitched 3 previous games. Really, making $13M in 2014, can’t close? He only pitched 3 innings in 3 days. Enter Diekman. He loads the bases.
The Braves Uggla (the Phillie killer) hits a Grand Slam to ruin the Phillies win.
Braves 9-6.
Enough said, but this game hurt this Phillies fan. ( I was texting my cousin Marjorie during the 8th until the end of game, another die-hard)
Bring back Charlie.
Deadspin has an excellent video in slow motion, check below link.
Rollins Motivational Speech, The Anonymous Heckler, Saturday Night Vs. Marlins.
My cousin Marjorie and I was at the Friday Night Home game. I was her guest in Section 110. Marjorie is a dedicated Phillies fan. She has gear from her head to her toes and even brought her glove. The rain never came either. We won but the stadium was half full. Hey fans scream, we screamed. But Saturday nights game I was viewing from my comfy sectional couch. Again, another half full CBP. But the end of the game you’re talking 1/4 of fans. Game was tied in the 10th. J-Roll hit the game winning home run beat the Miami Marlins 5-4. He then stated in the post game interview that a person in the stands was yelling at him. That gave him the incentive to swing at a 2-2 pitch and nail it into the stands and his remarks to the fan after. ( You can read lips) Now remember, Rollins is in the dugout and voice came from the stands many rows above. Rollins had to have his antenna’s up to hear what the fan said or was the fan heckling him numerous times during the game. Yes, Rollins can hear correctly and so did the fan.
There was some fan in the stands popping off,” Rollins said. “He was right behind our dugout, close enough to yell and piss me off, honestly. It was something pretty ignorant, but it worked.”
BTW, the Fish were swept by the Phillies this weekend.
( Hey Marjorie, I have the pics from the game, turned out great but I am under the weather at the present. Will upload them shortly. Must have been all that excitement Friday night.)
The boys of summer are back well opening day is in Texas. Looking forward to a hot Summer day sitting in Citizen Bank Park catching a game. Will the Phillies repeat their World Series quest from 2008? Photos below are from the 2008 parade.
Journalists Fans, And Players Discuss Charlie Manuel’s Firing as Philadelphia Phillies General Manager.
This blogger well, is more than upset that #FireRubén Amaro,Jr. ( Please can someone start a twitter account with this hash-tag) did not let Charlie go with respect. Yes, I am irate. This is my blog so I can tell you my true feelings. Ruben it is so “BIG OF YOU” to let Charlie win his 1000 game, and let Chooch deliver a home plate autograph by his players in the clubhouse. Big deal. Ruben you could have let Charlie finish 2013 contact season. You deemed the time necessary to change the guard to the clubhouse. Let me get this straight, you put the players on the field, you negotiated their contacts. Charlie did not. Do think this Sandberg guy is the second coming of ******! Really why hasn’t any other team pick him up to be their manager? BTW, The Berg guy doesn’t have a ring either. He seems like he is going to try to lay down the law in the clubhouse? This is 2013, These player make silly money. They don’t care what you do. You took their manager/friend away without class. Amaro are you just trying to fill the seats at Citizen Bank Park because Chip Kelly is across the street with the Buzzfactor Birds?? Ain’t going to work. Karma is a B*****! Wait for yours.
Viewing Comcast Sportsnet currently and MLB, and seeing Charlie in Atlanta’s Dugout waiting for the rain to stop. Charlie knew it was his last game as Manager of the Phillies. So Sad. ( and Ruben Fake A** tears @ the beginning of the presser yesterday.) Sportsnet has a highlight reel of Charlie. It is decent.
I hope the Phillies lose every freaking game left in the 2013 season. Hope the Dodgers extend their winning streak to 9 tonight. I just saw MLB is advertising the game on their channel. This should look good. Yes, I will root for the opposing team now. I got that feeling. Screw Rubin #FireRubinAmaro
OH BTW Did you know that one of Chase Utley’s fan has a blog with a plush toy? It is just a plain wordpress site. I think it is awesome. Check it out below.
