Lord, Hear My Prayer: Romans 12:12

Romans 12:12

12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Psalm 40:1-2

I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
    out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
    making my steps secure.

Almighty and Eternal God,
Give me, I beseech You,
the great gift of inward peace.

Fortify me with the grace of Your Holy Spirit
and give Your peace to my soul
that I may be free from all needless anxiety,
solicitude and worry.
Help me to desire always
that which is pleasing and acceptable to You
so that Your Will may be my will.

teach me constantly to seek
and to acquire that perfect resignation
to Your Holy Will
which alone brings interior peace.

in this I pray

Amen

Prayer for Spiritual Strength: Ephesians 3:14-21

Ephesians 3:14-21

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Jesus, a Source of Guidance: Jeremiah 29:11-131 Peter 5:6-9 (ESV).

Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare[a] and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. 13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

Peter 5:6-9

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith

Absolute and all knowing God,
Nothing is hidden from Your sight.
In the prescience since the beginning.
God, our Father, My son is seeking your divine help and guidance as he looks for suitable employment. He is grateful for the job he has now but needs your knowledge to direct him to another job to serve you. He needs your wisdom to guide his footsteps along the right path, and to lead him to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. He wishes to use the gifts and talents you have given him, but he needs the opportunity to do so with gainful employment that is appreciated. Do not abandon him, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant him this favor he seeks so that he may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance. Grant this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

The Spirit Of The Lord: Isaiah 61:1

Isaiah 61:1

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
because the Lord has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor;[a]
he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;[b]

Christ Notes

The prophets had the Holy Spirit of God at times, teaching them what to say, and causing them to say it; but Christ had the Spirit always, without measure, to qualify him, as man, for the work to which he was appointed.  By the dominion of sin in us, we are bound under the power of Satan; but the Son is ready, by his Spirit, to make us free; and then we shall be free indeed. Sin and Satan were to be destroyed; and Christ triumphed over them on his cross.  Christ was to be a Comforter, and so he is; he is sent to comfort all who mourn, and who seek to him, and not to the world, for comfort. He will do all this for his people, that they may abound in the fruits of righteousness, as the branches of God’s planting. Neither the mercy of God, the atonement of Christ, nor the gospel of grace, profit the self-sufficient and proud. They must be humbled, and led to know their own character and wants, by the Holy Spirit, that they may see and feel their need of the sinner’s Friend and Savior. His doctrine contains glad tidings indeed to those who are humbled before God.

Bible Emergency Numbers: Exodus 33:14 ESV

Exodus 33:14 ESV

14 And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Lord, inspire us to read your Scriptures and to meditate upon them day and night. We beg you to give us real understanding of what we need, that we in turn may put its precepts into practice. Yet we know that understanding and good intentions are worthless, unless rooted in your graceful love. So we ask that the words of Scriptures may also be not just signs on a page, but channels of grace into our hearts.
