New Jersey: Stronger than the Storm? We shall see, it is still up for debate, Christie. Not all of the shore’s coast line has been replenished from Super Storm Sandy.
My personal photos of my last trip to the shore, Ship Bottom, Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Labor Day weekend 2012. That is what we call it here the shore not the beach. It has been my childhood’s destination for the past 5 decades. Yes, do the Math.
I always go to shore in the PM so I do not have to pay to get on the beach. But, LBI is laid back. No buses over the causeway bridge. It is like you have a private beach. Hey, Christie, can you ask your friend Obama if he can cut another check for a free shore passes this year for all the Jersey shore visitors for 2013? Since you gave Obama that photo-op after Super Storm Sandy right before the Presidential election 2012. We New Jersey residents will never forget.

I am afraid to go to the shore now. LBI, Long Beach Island is one of those barrier Island’s below Seaside Heights that took a direct hit from Sandy.
Christie made sure his shore he went to as a child, Seaside Heights was in the for front of the rebuilding process.
I have a new camera, Olympus XZ1 in tow now.
I didn’t realize that the boardwalk was done. Thanks for sharing this news.
Hi Muse, there are many places up and down New Jersey’s shore that have Boardwalks, Atlantic City, Asbury Park Ocean City ( dry town, no alcohol)
Christie made sure his childhood section is taken care of. As he continues to neglect the other South Jersey shores.
I want to place a vote that we divide New Jersey in half right at Exit 6 on the New Jersey Turnpike.
I didn’t know that. The state will be out of money by the time everything is done. Sad.
Vintage footage of LBI storm, 62′ My Father lost his Boat in it.
This is the best video I could find of the Damage to LBI
Many years ago we had a boat tied up to our pier and when we got hit with a hurricane winds during a Nor’easter and high tide. Like idiots my hubby and I went into the water to try to tie the boat to a different mooring we used about 5 anchors to hold that boat away from the dock. We did it but boy was that ever stupid.
When I was on Cruise Ships through many N’easters/Hurricanes, we would leave early and go out to Sea. Never did we stay in the harbor docked.
One ship did in Bermuda, and they titled sideways underwater were the lower decks. whoa, I saw the photos.
Captain was an Idiot on the Atlantic which Disney purchased and made it The Big Red Boat. in late 80’s
This was the Hurricane I was in and went out to sea. I found it, I was on the Homeric but switch to the Atlantic on Wednesday’s.

The cruise ship Atlantic, with about 700 passengers aboard, slipped its mooring in the strong winds and had to be towed back to dock, Darby said. The liner’s bow was slightly damaged when it bumped into the dock, but the ship left Friday afternoon on its way back to New York City, said government spokeswoman Valerie Smith.

A big ship can usually ride it out or go the opposite direction. I remember when we had a hurricane in Key West all the Naval ships and planes took off. It looked like a ghost town. That storm just passed by. You can never tell what Mother Nature will do. I never take the weathermen’s guess as the law. I perpare for the worse and hope for the best.
How do you find a photo from back then, I can’t find a photo I took yesterday!
Muse I thought it took, I will have to downloaded it again.
I have to start writing that Book. 🙂

Now, with our New Camera the sky is the limit.
My parents lost tons of pictures when the basement flooded. That is sad. It is also a reminder keep your all you keepsakes together so you can grab them and go!
