The rocket attack in Libya that killed the U.S. ambassador to that country and three staff members should be treated “like an act of war,” Sen. Chuck Grassley said this morning.
“There ought to be serious implications,” the Iowa Republican said on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal. “Particularly when you get a rocket attack, it’s an act of war and ought to be treated like an act of war.”

If CNN’s version of events is to be believed, the ‘source familiar with the ambassador’s thinking’ mentioned by Cooper during Wednesday’s show was not Stevens’ journal since the network claims it only used tips from his entries.
However, it remains unclear why CNN did not reveal that it had found Stevens’ journal until Friday.
The Daily Mail reached out to CNN for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.
Shortly after 1am on Saturday, CNN published a story without a by-line on its website explaining how the journal came into its possession, and how the information it contains was used in the network’s reporting.
According to the article, CNN found Stevens’ journal four days after the ambassador was killed by Libyans protesting an anti-Muslim film produced by an American filmmaker.

A team of FBI agents assigned to investigate the deaths of four Americans in Libya has not been able to get into the country because of the volatile situation there, according to law enforcement officials.
The team’s inability to get to the scene, secure vital forensic evidence and interview witnesses means that the task of identifying and prosecuting the assailants will be harder, according to former and current FBI agents.
Agents will have to help secure a charred crime scene that was left open to the public and looted by militants; sift through the ashes for shell casings, residue from explosives and other physical evidence; and track down people who may have witnessed or were part of the attack, which could mean venturing into unfamiliar, dangerous territory in a country with little security, according to several former and current FBI agents who have been involved in similar investigations in foreign countries.

Anderson Cooper admits that CNN found slain American ambassador’s journal inside U.S. consulate in Libya and ‘secretly’ used it in reporting
If CNN’s version of events is to be believed, the ‘source familiar with the ambassador’s thinking’ mentioned by Cooper during Wednesday’s show was not Stevens’ journal since the network claims it only used tips from his entries.
However, it remains unclear why CNN did not reveal that it had found Stevens’ journal until Friday.
The Daily Mail reached out to CNN for comment, but did not receive an immediate response.
Shortly after 1am on Saturday, CNN published a story without a by-line on its website explaining how the journal came into its possession, and how the information it contains was used in the network’s reporting.
According to the article, CNN found Stevens’ journal four days after the ambassador was killed by Libyans protesting an anti-Muslim film produced by an American filmmaker.
