James 1:12-13
12 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
Revelation 2:10
10 Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.

dear lord,
let me hold Your promise of new life
keep me from slipping back
for I know that what is forgiven is as if it never were
each new day
Your grace gives me a fresh start to walk in Your light again.
Lord support me all the day long
till the shades lengten and the evening comes
and the busy world is hushed
and the fever of life is over
in this I pray
