Mitt Romney jokes at Obama, “No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate” at a rally of 7,000 in Commerce, Michigan.
Romney told supporters that he and Ann had been born at nearby hospitals.
No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised.”
No, no, not a swipe,. I’ve said throughout the campaign and before, there’s no question about where he was born. He was born in the U.S. This was fun about us, and coming home. And humor, you know — we’ve got to have a little humor in a campaign.”
Obama campaign spokesperson Ben LaBolt quickly denounced the remark,
embraced the most strident voices in his party instead of standing up to them.”

Santita Jackson said, “I found Biden‘s remarks profoundly insulting” in a discussion on the Sean Hannity show. Wonders never cease do they?
Ms Jackson replied,
It’s one thing to become familial. It’s another thing to become familiar. And familiarity breeds contempt. And, this is very close to being contemptuous. These remarks were insulting. Not only does he need to dial them back, he needs to apologize.”
