Earth Wind & Fire Founder Maurice White Dead at 74.

Growing up in the single digits in the 1960’s, music was my passion as I was a young dancer.  Then, I became a choreographer at age 12 at my local dance studio.  I had the most brilliant bands to create movement to. One of my favorites was Earth Wind & Fire which I attended their concerts at the Philly Spectrum. As I became classically trained dancer at Temple University in the mid 70’s that Philly R&B was in my blood. Remembering at the Sorority house of Alpha Gamma Delta the album would go on “That’s The Way of The World.”  Brilliant reflections for my soul. Music never would have been the same without your presence.  Ty so for your inspiration Maurice White. R.I.P.

Hallelujah- Lindsey Stirling- #aSaviorIsBorn.

This is beautiful. I had to repost.

Via EW.com

You’d think one of Lindsey Stirling’s 7.3 million YouTube subscribers would have recognized her performing in a New York City subway, but in a new video the violinist/ dancer/ singer, covers Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah” in a subway station and no one seems to notice.

The video also features footage from sold-out concerts and backstage meet and greets, but at the end of the clip, Stirling calls filming the subway scenes a “humbling experience.” She said, “It reminded me of a time when I honestly felt like no one could see the beauty in me. Maybe that’s something you relate to.”

Her version of “Hallelujah” is part of her Christmas celebration.

Isn’t It Time: The Babys.

I was driving last night, running errands and dodging black ice and 8 inches of newly fallen snow. I was surfing the radio for some good music.  Then, this song came on.  I was pulling up at the gym to pick up my son and I could not get Shazam to work on my Iphone. I quickly asked my son to pull the song up on his cell and connect it to the music system in the car.  Yes it was the song.  I asked him was it in the 1980’s.  No Mom, it was 1977, a British Band.  Really! Going back in time I was 3rd-4th year student at Temple University training classically in Dance. I always had an ear for a different melody. But there had to be a something else that rocked my world during that time.  Still trying to figure it out.

As soon as I got home I pulled the video up.  Then, today I found that the musical group has resurfaced in the present. I believe there is no comparison to the 70’s 80’s 90’s music to today’s headache trips.
