“I’m saving a seat for you,” an invitation from Barack Obama. Another email in my inbox today. Please donate to my campaign and have a chance to have dinner with me. Obama is including the airfare and lodging. The donation is up from $3 to $5 or whatever.  Can this man give it a rest for one day?

I’m only going to get to sit down to dinner with grassroots supporters on this campaign one last time.

It’s one of the most meaningful things we do, and represents exactly the kind of politics we believe in: All of us, at one table, together.

Just an email from Michelle Obama in my inbox today. Her husband Barack Obama needs money for reelection in November, 2012.

A woman recently told the campaign her family skipped a pizza dinner at their favorite place so that they could make a difference in this election.

I’m so jealous of you that I can barely write the rest of this email.
