J.C. Dobbs on South Street has closed.

I spent many University days down there. Awesome music but it is a sign of the times unfortunately.

Via Philly.com

The Legendary Dobbs – which traces its South Street lineage to the mid-1970s when it was the hippest street in town – took to Facebook to announce its shutdown:

Processed Meat Can Causes Cancer, Red Meat? WHO.

I always knew this, luncheon meats and always suspected red meat.

Via Philly.com

Eating processed meat can lead to bowel cancer in humans while red meat is a likely cause of the disease, World Health Organization (WHO) experts said on Monday in findings that could sharpen debate over the merits of a meat-based diet.

“For an individual, the risk of developing colorectal (bowel) cancer because of their consumption of processed meat remains small, but this risk increases with the amount of meat consumed,” Dr Kurt Straif of the IARC said in a statement.

NFL Philadelphia Eagles Lose 27-16 Carolina Panthers.

I despise sitting around waiting for Sunday Night games. Now a Bye next week so Eagle fans have to sulk to two weeks.  It is not going to be a greatly anticipated 14 days. Giants and the Redskins won but Dallas lost. That is always a good thing. But our division is weak, so there is still a chance.  But if we make the playoffs, will we go deep? Too early to predict, it is only week 7. Jason Peters went down, our strongest blind side QB left tackle O lineman, only back spams reported. Way to many dropped balls and Carolina team looked huge. I know Carolina’s QB is a beast. Still we could have pulled out this win. Dejected Eagles Fan.
