Her victory came in a year when three states approved gay marriage, and at least five openly gay Democrats were elected to House seats. A Wisconsin congresswoman Tammy Baldwin also became the first openly gay person elected to the Senate.

Anarchy anyone? Residents From Almost Half Of All US States Petition White House To Secede from United States. Over the past few days, residents from 22 states have filed separate petitions asking President Obama to allow them to secede from the U.S. Each petition, filed via the White House’s “We The People” petition site, requires a response from the executive branch if it receives 25,000 signatures within 30 days.
