All Saints’ Day, November 1.

Catholic Online

In Western Christian theology, the day commemorates all those who have attained the beatific vision in Heaven. It is a national holiday in many historically Catholic countries.

All Saints Day, the day on which Catholics celebrate all the saints, known and unknown, is a surprisingly old feast. It arose out of the Christian tradition of celebrating the martyrdom of saints on the anniversary of their martyrdom. When martyrdom’s increased during the persecutions of the late Roman Empire, local dioceses instituted a common feast day in order to ensure that all martyrs, known and unknown, were properly honored.

I am currently wearing a Saint Anthony of Padua, the Saint of Miracles metal.

Seeking God in the Midst of Distress: Psalm 42:5-8

Psalm 42:5-8 ESV

Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
    my salvation and my God.

My soul is cast down within me;

a prayer to the God of my life.

To stop wallowing in the pain, you must take the focus off yourself and place it on the Father.

As a Christian, you can take refuge in your all-powerful, all-wise, loving Father.

    bless his holy name!
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s

Believe in the Lord

For God So Loved the World

  John 3:16-18

16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Saving faith has three elements which are knowledge, conviction, and trust. The knowledge component means to believe in Jesus as our Savior, we need to know who He is. We need to know what Jesus accomplished. And finally, we need to know why it was necessary.
